Professor Nicola West, President of the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Denistry (BSP), is holding a joint meeting with the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy entitled: The Oral Health Summit. The BSP will also be collaborating with the British Society for Oral and Dental Research at this event. The resulting collaborations promise to deliver the largest UK dental conference of the year focusing on the latest innovations in periodontology, implant dentistry, and oral health. We have planned an exceptional line-up of leading global experts to present a fantastic scientific programme which will appeal to all members of the dental team.
Taking place at the prestigious Edinburgh International Conference Centre from 28 to 29 November 2025 (with additional BSP workshops on 27 November) the event will offer a dynamic scientific programme, exploring topics such as perioystemic connections, risk profiling, regenerative techniques, and supportive care.
On the morning of Thursday 27 November, there will be a joint meeting with BSP & BSODR entitled, “Bridging Research and Practice: Innovations in Periodontology.” Tailored for a mixed audience of dental academics, researchers, dentists, hygienists, and therapists, this session offers an exciting exploration of how research can directly enhance clinical practice. Tickets for this session are just £49.
BSP will have their usual meeting in the afternoon with practical lectures for dental care professionals and the Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize presentations. There is no charge to attend the Thursday afternoon BSP meeting.
Alongside these sessions, there will be a symposium, sponsored by Listerine, which is free to attend. In addition, there are a range of sponsored workshops provided by EMS, NSK, Geistlich, Straumann and Hu-Friedy, at the reduced cost of £49. Workshop places are limited to 25 delegates and are expected to sell out quickly. Therefore, please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Oral Health Summit on Friday 28 & Saturday 29 November is a unique opportunity to connect with leaders in the field and explore the latest advancements in oral health. Attendees will have the chance to hear from internationally renowned speakers, including the keynote speaker Otto Zuhr, Giulio Rasperini, István Urban and Anton Sculean. The highly anticipated “A Pint of Science” session will feature a lively debate on the microbiome, with contributions from Professors Mike Curtis, Phil Marsh, and Iain Chapple.
