Human Tissue Authority

In June, we advised members of important regulatory changes regarding the import/export of human tissues and cells between Great Britain and the European Economic Area for the dental sector. We also provided a link to a short survey being conducted by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA) to determine whether your activities would be impacted.

HTA wish to thank our members for engaging with the survey. As a result of their successful campaign, they have identified a number of new sub-sectors that require licensing, which is key to determining their future regulatory model. Organisations have proactively sought advice and applied for HTA licences to meet the regulatory requirements and it has also raised awareness of the HTA’s remit across the whole dental sector.
