Call for submissions - EFP Digital Innovation Award 2024
The EFP has announced the call for the EFP Digital Innovation Award, supported by Haleon. This award recognises digital innovations that will contribute to gum health worldwide, and it is open to all members of the EFP National Societies.
The Award is divided into three categories:
- Innovation for the public: digital technologies, such as apps or devices, accessible to everyone, enhancing gum health and preventing gum inflammation. These innovations should be user-friendly and support primary or secondary prevention.
- Innovation for the dentist: focused on technologies that facilitate the diagnosis and improvement of gum health.
- Innovation for periodontal researchers: encourages the development of novel digital methods that enhance the quality of research in gum health.
Submissions should outline a clear business plan, detailing the journey from conception to market. This includes production costs, market strategy, and customer pricing.
Candidates should send their application with all supporting materials by email in a PDF format to the EFP European co-ordinator, Monica Guinea (monica@efp.org), by June 10th, 2024.
A panel of 5 adjudicators, consisting of the Scientific Affairs Committee Chair and Deputy Chair, the Postgraduate Education Committee Chair, the Workshop Committee Chair and a member of the EFP Executive Committee will evaluate the applications. In case of conflict-of-interest Jury members are abstaining and replaced from the judging. Each of the 4 following items (the need, the market, presentation of the idea, and business plan) will be given a maximum of 5 points.
Three awards will be given each year together with a Certificate. The winner of the first prize will receive Euros 10.000, the winner of the second prize will receive Euros 6.000, and the winner of the 3rd prize will receive Euros 4.000.
The Scientific Affairs Committee Chairman will inform the awardees and the EFP EC of the outcome of the competition.
