A note from our President…
It’s hard to believe that the 2024 BSP Annual Conference has been and gone. For those who were there in Newcastle, I hope you will agree that it was such a fantastic occasion - educationally outstanding, absolutely inspiring, with world-class speakers sharing their knowledge and expertise, and a wonderful opportunity to meet so many friends and colleagues, new and old, who make up the BSP family. Thank you!
I keep having flashbacks to some personal highlights - the passion of the speakers, the awarding of BSP Honorary Membership to Professor Robin Seymour, the Conference Dinner and that amazing band (who kept the dancefloor pounding until late!), and the sheer joy of spending so much time with all those who love perio. What an event!
There are so many people to thank: all the speakers and sessions chairs of course, the Patient Forum members for their excellent session, the sponsors and trade exhibitors, the student helpers, all the staff at the hotel, the poster presenters and prize entrants, Diego Fontecha for his brilliant photography, and of course Paula Dunn and Jo Brown, who basically made it all happen. Thank you to one and all - it was a huge team effort, with much going on behind the scenes (think about all the boxes of supplies that are needed) to make the whole event run smoothly and look effortless. We hope you enjoy using your 75th Anniversary merchandise for many years to come.
The final wrap-up video is now live on the website: please enjoy it and share the link. https://www.bsperio.org.uk/events/picture-gallery
Meanwhile, the work of the BSP goes on, with the ongoing webinar series, our work on strategic planning, and the production of our annual newsletter, The Periodical, which will be hitting the press soon. I will certainly be looking forward to reading that, I am sure you will enjoy it too.
