23.07.2018 NewsThe BSP Patient Forum met again in July and had an extremely successful meeting. It was very encouraging to see again most of the participants from 2017 and we were joined by a number of new members. The purpose of the Forum is to give a voice to the community and help shape the future of gum health in the UK and to work with our Society. The Patient Forum members shared their experiences and ideas and provided an invaluable insight into the challenges faced by patients and of areas that could be developed moving forwards. Professor Needleman and Dr Penny Hodge reflected on the meeting and said, “We felt privileged to work with such a creative, caring and passionate group. It was an extremely productive day and the level of discussion was remarkable. The BSP will now take on board the experiences and ideas shared at the meeting as we continue our mission to improve care, research and awareness about gum health. It is hard to overstate the uniqueness and importance of the Forum. We would like to thank all the members of the Patient Forum for giving up their time to support us in this important initiative and a special thank you to GSK-Oral Health for supporting the event.” The BSP Patient Forum will continue to work together to accomplish further advancements in the care of patients with periodontitis.
