Radio Kent contacted our President, Phil Ower, this morning requesting a live radio interview about the amount of interest generated by the press coverage of the debate "to floss or not to floss". With less than a hour's notice the call went out and Professor Francis Hughes rose to the challenge. He was the only person interviewed on the subject and was on air answering a barrage of questions from the show's host Julia George. Gwyneth Roberts

News of the death on 7th July of Gwyneth Roberts was received yesterday. Gwyneth Roberts was a member of the Society for many years and a regular attender of BSP meetings. She retired as a Consultant in 1991 in Leeds where she had been Director of the Dental Hygiene Programme. She was highly respected within the school and by her colleagues and graduates of the school and is remembered fondly by many of the Society’s members. She retired initially to Bristol and finally to Cambridgeshire to be nearer her family. Her funeral takes place today in Cambridge.
