AIMS:
To enhance confi dence and competency in communicating periodontal disease diagnosis, staging, and treatment needs with patients and the dental team. This will be achieved through the application of S3 guidelines and advanced instrumentation techniques, leading to improved treatment planning, patient adherence, and treatment outcomes in daily dental practice.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course, delegates will:
• Have explored and practiced effective communication strategies to discuss a patient’s periodontal status, prognosis and treatment options, and the importance of adherence to treatment with both the patient and dental team members.
• Be able to confidently create and implement treatment plans for patients with periodontitis, using S3 guidelines to guide clinical decisions, while knowing when specialist referral is warranted.
• Understand the different treatment options a periodontal specialist may offer, equipping delegates to clearly explain the rationale for referrals and specialist care to patients.
• Have developed/gained hands-on experience with powered instrumentation techniques, with an emphasis on correct tip selection and comparisons to traditional methods, ensuring they can apply these skills effectively in practice for the treatment and maintenance of periodontal disease, including Minimally Invasive Non-Surgical Therapy (MINST).
