The webinar is free for all members and non members.

Registering instructions will be sent out on Monday 10 March 2025, as you need to register with Zoom (a quick and simple process). After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar on the evening.
Only the first 500 participants to log in on the evening will be able to participate in the live event.
However, booked participants will be able to view the webinar after the event on the BSP website. You will be notified when the recorded presentation is available for viewing.
1.5 hours CPD is offered to all delegates who have booked and viewed the webinar. Bookings must have been made through the BSP website, non-members will need their booking reference number to obtain CPD. Evaluation form and CPD certificates will be available after the event on the website.
To describe the scope of the guideline for treatment of severe periodontitis (EFP stage IV periodontitis)
Discuss the interdisciplinary needs associated with severe periodontitis cases
Describe the different ‘case types’ of severe periodontitis
Discuss when and how to manage tooth hypermobility due to secondary occlusal trauma in periodontitis
Be able to recognise interdisciplinary needs linked with severe periodontitis
Understand treatment options in cases of hypermobility and occlusal trauma in periodontitis cases

Prof. Luigi Nibali is Professor/Honorary Consultant, Academic Lead and Director of the EFP-approved Postgraduate programme in Periodontology at King’s College London (KCL), based at Guy’s Hospital. He is also Lead of the Centre for Host-Microbiome Interactions and co-Lead of the Oral Clinical Research Unit at KCL. He had been awarded MSc and PhD in Periodontology at University College London and previously worked as Clinical Lecturer and then Reader in Periodontology at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and at Queen Mary University of London and was Honorary Professor at Hong Kong University. Prof. Nibali has widely published in the medical and dental literature, is the author of two books in periodontology and received several international research prizes. He has been in the editorial board of several dental and periodontal journals and is currently Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. He has been active within the EFP, taking part in workshops leading to EFP treatment guidelines for periodontal and peri-implant therapy. Prof. Nibali is currently part of the BSP Council. His research interests range from periodontal medicine, genetics and microbial aetiopathogenesis and minimally-invasive periodontal treatment of intrabony defects and furcations.
